Producer / DJ
Artist Bio
Originally from Columbia, South Carolina, DJ Yasir has been surrounded by music since childhood. His mother encouraged him and his family to perform together as The Tempoles, a family band that sang and played timeless hits from legends like The Commodores, Marvin Gaye, The O’Jays, and The Manhattans. Yasir played guitar and sang, building a deep love for music that became a lifelong passion.
After joining the military, Yasir carried that passion across the world — DJing in Maryland, Germany, Munich, Cape Town, Stuttgart, and more. His sets span every genre imaginable — R&B, country western, techno, reggae, rap, and trap — creating universal vibes that connect people everywhere. Along the way, he’s shared venues and moments with icons like The O’Jays, The Commodores, The Blackbyrds, and Con Funk Shun, and even DJ’d R&B and reggae music on Springfield, Massachusetts college radio, showcasing his smooth sound and soulful rhythm.
Now based in Baltimore, Maryland, Yasir continues to elevate his craft as a producer, DJ, songwriter, and publisher. He’s the creative force behind a long list of instrumental albums, including Let’s Ride, Flow With It, Get on the Floor, Payday, Just Say Something, Feel It When U Move, The Time Is Right, Two the Left, and his collaboration project Futuristic Simulation with DJ CurriousJuice. His latest release, The One, is especially meaningful — his first album featuring recording artists DJ CurriousJuice (Baltimore), Dev Barnes (Philadelphia), Slokivich (Statesboro, GA), and Chosen (New York City), all rapping over Yasir’s original production. He also penned several standout tracks, including “By Myself,” “Talk About This,” and “Kind Of.” Whether he’s creating smooth R&B grooves, high-energy rap beats, or laid-back techno rhythms, DJ Yasir’s mission stays the same — to keep listeners happy, motivated, and inspired through music that moves the soul.
In The Artist's Words
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
When I was small, I was apart of a band. We performed all The Temptations, The Ohio Players, Commodores, and more. I was also a DJ in Germany for over 5 years.
Name one of your songs that you love and share why it is special to you.
“Just Say Something” This song is about wanting to have that special person. Though in life, sometimes it doesn't work out that way.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
To leave a legacy for my family through my music.
